How to find Alexandra Park in Bath

Alexandra Park is in the Bear Flat area of Bath on the south side of the city.

You can walk from the city centre via Holloway. Opposite the Magdalen Chapel, next to the old fountain, follow the zig zag path all the way to the top, with marvellous views along the way.

For those not quite so fit, the 4, 4a, 4b, 171, 172, 173, 174 and D2 buses stop in Bear Flat. From there, it’s a 5 minute walk to the park up Shakespeare Avenue.

If you must drive, take the Wells Road (A367) from the city centre and from Bear Flat, about 50 yards after the Co-op, turn left up Shakespeare Avenue.

Drive all the way to the top of Shakespeare Avenue and you’ll find Alexandra Park. Please note that there are parking restrictions in Alexandra Park from 9am to 3pm. You must register with MiPermit at http://wanttopark.com/BathNES . Parking is limited to 4 hours, with the first hour being free of charge.

There are three disabled spaces where it is free to park. One is near the main viewpoint, one near the boules court and the other to the right of the main entrance (you must drive around the park to access it).
